On the fourth Thursday of November, people in the United States celebrate Thanksgiving, a national holiday honoring the early settlers and Native Americans who came together to have a historic harvest feast.

Thanksgiving is one of the busiest holidays of the year and is marked on the fourth Thursday of November. This year, Thanksgiving falls on Thursday, November 25, 2021. It is an annual national holiday that has both religious and secular aspects, being coined as the “harvest festival” and the “festival of family.” The first Thanksgiving supposedly took place in Plymouth, Massachusetts in 1621. It’s celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November.

To celebrate this day, friends and family get together to enjoy a hearty meal, decorate their homes, and catch up with each other. A typical Thanksgiving meal includes turkey, bread stuffing, potatoes, cranberries and pumpkin pie. When we prepare food, we can wear pe gloves and disposable bouffant pleated cap to prevent food from getting dirty. And in some cities and towns, there are parades during the Thanksgiving weekend. In most areas, these festivities also mark the opening of the Christmas shopping season. On Thursday, banks, UPS, mail delivery, stock markets, shops, shopping malls, supermarkets, most government offices, businesses, schools, universities, colleges and other organizations are closed for Thanksgiving.
